What are the differences between element X2 and element X2 Pure?
#1
1. The built-in DAC
element X2 uses one ES9038PRO chip, the left and right channel share one D/A chip.
element X2 Pure uses two ES9039PRO chips. Each D/A chip is used for a single audio channel.

2. Power supply - Transformer
The linear power supply of element X2 is based on a traditional toroidal transformer.
The element X2 Pure is based on a new type O-core toroidal transformer.

3. Power supply - Regulator circuit
element X2 uses DC/DC + LDO, to ensure low power supply noise under the premise of low power consumption.
element X2 Pure uses LDO completely, to ensure that the power supply noise can be reduced to even lower level.

4. Coupling capacitors in audio signal path
The audio path of element X2 includes coupling capacitors.
element X2 Pure is using DC servo circuitry in the audio path, there is no coupling caps, it’s benefits for low frequencies responses.

5. Headphone amplifier
element X2 has a built-in headphone amplifier. The amplifier shares power supply with line output circuit.
element X2 Pure don’t have a headphone amp, the line output circuit use the power supply exclusively.

6. Shield
element X2 has no shield for the analog circuit.
The analog circuit of element X2 Pure is covered by an aluminum CNC shield. There are silicon pads between the aluminum shield and the PCB. The heat can be delivered to the shield, to improve the working status of the analog circuit.

7. Feet
The feet of element X2 are aluminum feet with rubber pads.
The element X2 Pure is using CBVB (Ceramic Ball Vibration Buffer) feet. The CBVB feet are composed of aluminum base, rubber cushion, ceramic balls and stainless steel cover. Different materials are combined together, vibrations can be eliminated, ensuring the unit keeps a good working status.
