Suggest New Feature - “now playing” landing page - X-Sabre 3
#1
Hi. I recently purchased a X-Sabre 3 device. I'm pretty happy about the sound quality and overall performance, but I believe that the dev team might introduce a really game-changing feature that would make it one of the most appealing Streamer on the market.

I've easily realised that the X-Sabre 3 is running on Linux Ubuntu core, and it already uses some tcp ports for network operations.
I reckon it would be quite easy to activate the httpd server in the operating system, and implement a basic landing page with Album Art and "now playing" information.

More or less it would be just the same content already available on the very small screen of the X-Sabre front panel. The issue with the front panel screen is that it is far too small to be of any use.

By providing a web landing page with Album Art and "now playing" information available from the streaming service (Artist , Song and Album Title, bit rate, .. ) surely will make it gorgeous to see it working from any tablet, PC or specially from a Smart-TV browser, right available on the big TV screen that most users have in the same room of the audio set-up.

Think about it.. It shouldn't be difficult or costly to implement. That's the way other linux based streamers works, for instance by comparison to solutions like Volumio, or moOde, or piCorePlayer, or other similar linux based players.

Thank you for taking this into account.

Hi there.
Did you have a chance to evaulate the suggested feature?   I wonder if it will be in the roadmap at some time.

An http landing page would be very much appreciated and a big added value especially for a streamer with such a mini-screen onboard (it can render the bit rate or volume level, but it's almost useless for the album art).

An httpd service would make it enjoyable also from a smartTV for instance , and of course from a PC and any kind of device in the home network.
