Element i2 and X-SPDIF3

Hello,

I currently own a Element i2 DAC and wanted to know if I purchase a X-SPDIF3 and connect it to the DAC, the sound quality when connected via USB would improve?

Can only speak for the X-SPDIF2 and the element i2:
Connected the element i2 through LAN (Roon/RAAT) and additional from a RPi4 with Ropieee though the X-SPDIF2 to the element i2.
What I can say, that I don't hear any differences, but the connection through i2s disables the possibility decoding MQA and it can be, that it needs some time for syncing (take a look into the PLL settings).
If you've a really bad USB source, than it can be worth to use i2s, but I would recommend (otherwise the nice display will also not used completely) the network connection.
