ASIO - Matrix Audio Control panel 32 bit for USB ?

Hi, concerning Matrix Element X (not X2).
I am using this over USB.

The manual says USB PCM is 16-24 bits 44.1k-768k

However in the Matrix Audio Control Panel (Asio?)
I can select under the tab "Format" : 2 channels 32 bit.

In my player softwares (Audirvana and Foobar) I can select to upsample to 24 bit of 32 bit.
The software recommendeds to upsample to the max bit depth the dac can handle.

My question are : 
Why can I select 32 bits ? Is the Asio driver reducing it automatically from 32 to 24 bits?
What are the correct setting I should I choose ?
Matrix Audio Panel "Format" 2 channels 24 bit (and player software also 24 bit) or 32 bit (and player software also 32 bit)?

I'm confused.

Hi Wim

The bit depth setting in Matrix Audio Control Panel is the maximum bit depth of USB output. 
   


Element X supports 24-bit through USB port, if the input audio bit depth is higher than 24-bit, the DAC will process the audio stream as 24-bit. So, it's no differences that setting the bit depth to 32 bits or 24 bits in Matrix Control Panel when using element X.
