Element H does not work with ext power!

Hello,

My new element H is installed and it recognizes the dac on internal power, but when i switch to external and plug in the ifi ipower X 12v, it does not recognize the dac. Any suggestions?

I fixed it. I had the internal power cord on an extension with other devices sharing. I gave the Element H its own power cord, and attatched it to the plug closest to the mobo. Booted up and now it recognizes it with the external power. Cant wait till monday until my amp comes in!

New issue:

Moon audio says 12v ext power is too high? I thought the board was rated to 12v ext power. If I use 12v power will it damage the board? Please advise.

Hi Steven,
A 12v power works with the element H without problems. It accept 9-12V.

Hi Steven,
I'v the Element H Card and considering purchase the iFi iPowerX 12V for it.
Have you notice an audible improvement with the external iPowerX over the internal SATA power?
