X SPDIF 2 how does on limit max sampling rate?
#1
I have purchased X SPDIF 2 and want to use it for my speakers with 24/96 DAC.

How do I limit the output of X SPDIF 2 to 24/96 not to overload the DAC it is connected to?

At the moment, X SPDIF outputs 24/192 to the next DAC which causes audible artifacts. I have no control over sampling rate at the source that's connected to X SPDIF 2.

I am using AES/EBU out o X SPDIF 2.

Thank you

Hi Sev,
The X-SPDIF 2 does not over sampling or down sampling audio signal. The only way of limiting the audio sampling is from the source device (or playback software).
What audio source are you using now? Can you tell me the model name?

I am using an Nvidia Shield (Android TV device).
Android software is a bit random with sampling rates, unfortunately, when a higher than necessary sampling rate is selected, X SPDIF 2 is feeding my 96Khz to 32 bit DAC... When more than 96Khz is passed through (192, 384 Khz etc) that causes playback errors.

It's really a tricky thing, it's impossible to limit the sampling rates through the back-end devices. The X-SPDIF 2 does not change the input sampling rates either.
