Matrix Audio Element I HDMI & Apps

Hi,

I plan on purchasing an Element I and have a couple of questions before I commit to the sale.

1) There is a II2S - LVDS input port and the manual Fig 6.3 says it uses a standard HDMI Type A  cable.

     Does this mean it will work with any HDMI output?
     If it doesn't connect HDMI what is it for?

2) Will the Element I work with other apps beside the ones that are loaded in the unit.

    For example Kodi, Plex these are file management Apps not remote apps?

Thanks for reaching out!
1. It uses a standard HDMI cable as a data transfer media, but the signals are not a standard HDMI signal. It would not work with a HDMI output.
It works with IIS output devices such as Matrix X-SPDIF 2 USB interface or similiar devices.

Question on the II2s...

I have DSD material ..  1024...

So...  what is the best way to play that material .. to the II2s input on the Element X ?

Hi Joel,
Sorry, the element X only support up to DSD512, it does not support DSD 1024.
