X-SABRE 3 build 48 WiFi issues - Sascha - 07-29-2022

Hello

I've just got an X-SABRE 3 WiFi and, after joining my wifi network, updated it to version 1.0.1 Build 48. Unfortunately, since then I have nothing but issues. Sometimes, the wifi network disappears and if I search for it, the device reboots. If this doesn't happen and the wifi connects, the connection strength is very low, even if I place the device right next to the wifi access point.

Are there any known issues?

Edit: according to the device, my wifi signal strength is -89dBm, which is terrible. Strange thing is, I can move the device right next to my AP and don't get better signal. All other devices like my PS5, LGTV, Bluesound node (-49dBm), AppleTV etc. have excellent signal strength and perform as expected. Right now I use my Bluesound node to stream into the Sabre 3 via USB

Some more debugging: I've got my mobile 5g mobile router and connected the device to it. if I place the router a few cm away from it, same issue as before: poor signal (around -70dBm). If I set the mobile router directly on top of the device, where the wifi antenna should be located, I get better signal (-59dBm).

Is there an issue with the antenna module? Even on top of the device, I get medium signal strength and just a few cm away it's drop dead awful

Hi Sascha,
When you checking the wifi list from the display of X-SABRE 3, are all the SSID marked as weak signal, or will some of the SSIDs are marked as strong?

I only get one Wifi network signal from my main AP marked as weak (one bar). If I turn on my 5g router, I get two wifi signals, both marked as weak (one bar). The only way I get a decent signal is placing the 5g mobile router right on top of the X-Sabre 3.

My bluesound node and all the other wifi devices pick-up plenty of surrounding wifi networks at different strengths :/

Edit: I've sent you a PM with a link to a video
